Stage 18: Capanna Ribia to Capanna Alzasca continues the high-alpine journey through Ticino, offering breathtaking scenery and remote terrain as part of the legendary Via Alta Vallemaggia route. Capanna Ribia, inaugurated in 1993, is a stone-built alpine hut situated on the left side of the upper Vergeletto Valley. It dominates the top of the steep slopes that descend to the bottom of the valley to the Pièi locality, along with the Rio di Ribia, a stream that springs at the foot of the hut.
