About This Hike
Onzanji, on Boyouzan in Komatsushima, is where Kobo Daishi’s mother became a nun. The temple honors parental gratitude and family ties. The hike here is about 5 km and takes 2–3 hours. We recommend this hike for its touching history and the lush forests surrounding the temple.
