Dainichiji, located on Kokuganzan in Itano, is an intimate temple surrounded by forest. Established during the 9th century, it honors Dainichi Nyorai, the cosmic Buddha. The hike is about 3 km and takes 1.5–2 hours. We recommend this hike for its wooded paths and tranquil setting.
