Descending from Pinchot Pass, the trail drops into Woods Creek Canyon before climbing again to the gemlike Rae Lakes—some of the most iconic and photographed alpine lakes in the Sierra. Crystal-clear water, jagged ridgelines, and lush campsites make this a favorite among hikers.
